Saturday, 7^th May 2011, three national plus teachers of Mutiara Bunda School 1 Sidoarjo attended a National Consortium held by Jawa Pos Group named “Indonesia Cerdas” at DBL Arena from morning till afternoon. The teachers are Ms Dian as Science Teacher, Ms Novi as lower grade teacher, and me as English teacher. We gathered along with 3000 teacher through out java region. Basically, it was kind of lecturing teachers conducted by the experts such as Indonesia Director General of Education, Mr Alim Markus the founder of Maspion Group, etc. besides from the entrepreneurs, there is one teacher who gave a testimony about her experience when teaching in a remote or isolated area. But… I forget her name. Anyhow I still remember about her four life story.

Here are the four stories. Hope you can learn from one of these kiddos.

Drying Up the Class

In her new teaching location, this teacher was amazed by the fact that the people who lived there were not familiar with "A calender". This is totally different with you all true boys and girl? You have your agenda, don't you?

So, before the last holiday, it was the end of the first term, the teacher told the kids to come back at school on the 10th Jan 2011, but they didn't write it down in their agenda because they do not have any agenda.

So it was, the kid had a long holiday. And so it was, on the 10 JAn, early morning. When the school lesson should be started, the teacher realized that the kid must have forgotten one thing: BACK TO SCHOOL DAY!
So She came to every house and knocked the door of every house just to tell that today the school should be run as usual. knocked every house... in the village. can you imagine how many houses are there?...

but unfortunately, the class they usually used for studying and left empty a long as the holiday has become.... A COW STABLE...! Yups! A Stable... COMPLETELY!

Can you imagine, you can a study well and comfortable in A STABLE?..

I don't think you can imgaine how would it be?

This condition brought her into problematic situation....  

Solution:
She asked the kids to change clothes with the dirty ones, asked them to save all the learning stuff and together they clean up and drying up the COW CLASS...
they worked together... they got dirty together... they felt the sweet and the pain together...

The students did not only want their class looked to be ready for the lesson... but they also wanted to make the class ready for the lesson.. it is a life skill though.

Meanwhile, 

The teacher did not only give order to set the class clean and tidy but she also worked hand in hand with her pupils to make it real....

Just like what our nation said... GOTONG ROYONG....
